Getting there & away
Air
Toledo is served by Madrid Barajas International Airport (MAD) which is
located 15 km from the center of Madrid. Once you are in the capital, it's
easy to take a bus or train to Toledo.
Train
There are nine trains per day from Madrid's Atocha station to Toledo's train
station near the Paseo de la Rosa. The journey takes about 1 hour and 15
minutes. The first train
leaves Madrid at 07:20 and the last train departs at 08:45.
Bus
It is easy to get to Toledo from Madrid as there are buses operated by
Galiano Continental leaving from the capital's
Estación del Sur station for Toledo every half an hour. There are
also several other buses run by different companies that travel to the
surrounding towns and villages near Toledo, such as Orgaz, Alcázar de San
Juan and La Puebla de Montalban.
Car
From Madrid, drive along the N-401 which is a direct road to Toledo from the
capital.
Getting around
Most visitors and trippers to Toledo will find that the city is very
pleasant to explore on foot as the cathedrals and palaces are located within the
vicinity of one another. There are also extensive bus system within the
city and out to the nearby towns. Taxis are plenty and can be flagged
down on any street.
